Frank Lasch speaks on Aid for Wounded Warriors at the 2009 AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition

The 2009 AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition is a professional development forum for non-commissioned officers and soldiers presented by the Association for the United States Army.  Frank Lasch, Chairman of Azalea Charities, was invited to speak to a group of approximately 900 people about Aid for Wounded Warriors as part of their Annual Meeting on October 7.  His presentation was part of a Military Family Forum designed to help Army families with information and resources to deal with the challenges of military life.

The Forum was geared to the unique issues that impact Army families every day. Topics presented included:

  • Lieutenant General Jack Stultz, Chief, Army Reserve / Commanding General and his wife Laura on the pilot program of a new type of center to service military families who are not located near a base.

  • Colonel Kris Peterson on the psychological aspects of dealing with the impact of deployments on children.

  • Matthew Wright, Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Texas on his organization’s efforts to deal with the psychological and emotional issues of military families.

  • Susan Agustin of Operation Give a Hug on her programs to provide military children with dolls to help them ease the stress of deployed parents.

  • Daniel Nichols of Inova Health Systems on their success with a program to employ military spouses.

Aid for Wounded Warriors addresses a relevant concern of military families.  Frank’s presentation was well-received and can be viewed in PowerPoint by clicking here.
