Christmas party for soldiers and families

Azalea Charities hosted a holiday dinner for wounded soldiers and their families from Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Sunday, December 21, at Giorgio’s Family Restaurant in Montclair, Virginia. About 50 soldiers and family members attended, along with well-wishers from Azalea Charities. Wounded vets and their families were treated to a ham and turkey dinner with all the trimmings and entertainment by tenor Patrick Mulhern from nearby Nokesville, Virginia. Santa Claus also made an appearance with presents for the children.

Thanksgiving dinner at Walter Reed

Azalea Charities sponsored a Thanksgiving dinner for soldiers and staff in Ward 54 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center this season. This was a treat for Frank Lasch of Azalea Charities and Prince Leopold d’Arenberg of Europe, who enjoyed entertainment put on by the patients. The show included two soldiers who played guitars featuring a song they will record to a CD for distribution by Azalea Charities. One soldier, a recipient of multiple Purple Hearts, gave one of his medals to the Prince.

Merry Christmas!
