Run for Wounded Soldiers in the
2008 Marine Corps Marathon and 10k Run

Team Azalea Charities is proud to field its 3rd team in this year’s Marine Corps Marathon (MCM), and its very first team in the 10K event on Sunday, October 26, 2008.
We are seeking financial support from individuals, small businesses, and corporate/business sponsors to help raise $225,000 – the ‘Run For Wounded Soldiers’ fundraising goal for 2008! As part of the MCM Charity Partnership Program, we have sold out on the entry bibs for the marathon, however we are still seeking marathon runners already registered for MCM to join Team Azalea Charities and commit their 2008 marathon to our cause. We are also looking for 10K runners and walkers who can still register directly with MCM and join Team Azalea Charities to commit their 2008 10K to our wounded servicemen and women.
Azalea Charities, Inc. Aid for Wounded Soldiers is a non-profit project that provides comfort and relief items for soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines sick, injured or wounded from service in Iraq and Afghanistan. Staffed with all volunteers and supported by a charity board of directors that cover all operating expenses, 100% of your contributions go toward the purchase of specific items requested by Military Medical Centers, VA Medical Centers and Fisher House rehabilitation facilities each week. We also provide financial support to CrisisLink, a Hotline for wounded soldiers and their families, Hope for the Warriors, and special projects for wounded soldiers. Many of the servicemen and women are grievously wounded and will require long hospitalization and rehabilitation. The purpose of our mission is to lift their spirits, enhance their morale, as well as affect a lifetime support program well after our warriors are no longer in the headlines.
