Race Weekend

Run for Wounded Warriors 2010 Marine Corps Marathon

Friday-Sunday, October 29-31, 2010

Hotels

Click here to search for event hotels preferred by the Marine Corps Marathon as offering the best rooms at the most convenient locations and at the lowest rates.

DC Metro

Also be sure to become familiar with the DC Metro so you can travel efficiently on race weekend to get to and from your home, hotel, health & fitness expo, our pasta lunch, and around the race course (for spectators only, of course).  If you plan to use the metro more than one round-trip on any given day, buying a full day pass is economical and convenient.

Marine Corps Marathon
  • The MCM Health and Fitness Expo, October 29-30, Washington Convention Center (Yellow or Green Line, Mt. Vernon Sq/7th St. Convention Center Station).  Come find Team Azalea Charities volunteers at our booth!

  • The Team Azalea Charities Pasta Lunch at Buca di Beppo Restaurant, 1825 Connecticut Ave. NW D.C., Saturday, October 30 at 1 p.m. (Red Line, just north of Dupont Circle metro station).

  • For Race Day, the metro stops at the Pentagon (Blue and Yellow Lines), Arlington Cemetery (Blue Line), and Rosslyn (Blue and Orange Line) which are all close to the MCM start and finish line.  Arlington is the closest to the starting line, but we recommend the Rosslyn station if you’d like to stop by our finish line tent to drop off warm clothes to have at the finish.  You can also leave a drop bag at Runner’s Village from the Pentagon and you’ll be able to pick up the bag just outside the finish line area in Rosslyn after the race.

Team Azalea Charities Booth at MCM Health and Fitness Expo

Once again Team Azalea Charities will have a booth at the MCM Health and Fitness Expo.  Our primary reason for having this booth is to raise awareness for our team in the interest of recruiting runners for 2011, but also to provide you a place to pick up your race shirt, race signs for your supporters on the course, and meet charity volunteers and board members who will personally want to thank you for your fundraising activities.  So come by our booth after you pick up your race packet and see what other ‘goodies’ will plan to have in store for you.

Pasta lunch at Buca di Beppo Restaurant

Finally, visit the web page for the Buca di Beppo Restaurant where runners (at no charge) and family & supporters (donations welcome) will enjoy a delicious pasta lunch and meet fellow runners, charity volunteers who are on the frontline for supporting our wounded servicemen & women, and selected board members of Azalea Charities who will want to thank you for your successful fundraising endeavors. Each runner will receive an invitation through eVite to secure a reservation for themselves and any guests.  The lunch will be held on Saturday, October 30 at 1 p.m. restaurant and is located at 1825 Connecticut Ave. NW D.C., (Metro Red Line, just a couple blocks north of the Dupont Circle metro station).

The MCM Website also has just about everything else you need to know about the marathon and 10K, as well as the weekend events in Arlington and Rosslyn, to make your weekend extremely memorable.
