Azalea Charities partners with Wegmans Lake Manassas to help the House of Mercy
aid those in need

Manassas, VA July 27, 2010 – Azalea Charities has teamed up with Wegmans Lake Manassas to support the House of Mercy, a Manassas-based facility that provides food and clothing to those in hardship in our community and to other areas in need .  Azalea Charities and Wegmans Manassas presented Wegmans gift cards worth $2,100, as well as a check for $2,000 to Kellie Ross, Executive Director of  the Missionaries of Our Lady of Divine Mercy, the organization that operates the House of Mercy.

Brien MacKendrick, Wegmans Lake Manassas Store Manager, says, “Wegmans is always happy to support our local community, especially such a worthwhile organization as the House of Mercy.”

Frank Lasch, Chairman & Founder of Azalea Charities, and Frank Chichka, Azalea Charities’ Board Member, represented Azalea Charities. “Supporting the House of Mercy puts the resources of Azalea Charities into the hands of those who need it the most,” said Lasch, “In keeping with our mission of supporting local community charities, we are able to extend our support to people in the Gainesville / Haymarket areas.”
Acknowledging their contribution, Kellie Ross, said “The House of Mercy is not a title, it’s a state of being.  It’s a way to bring the church to the people so that even those who don’t qualify for financial assistance will receive something.  Contributions like these gift cards are greatly appreciated.”
The House of Mercy is moving to a new, 8600 square foot facility on Wellington Road in Gainesville in early October. The new location will expand the community with a thrift store, meal packing, spiritual and educational formation classes, food pantry, programs for children, and an indoor grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.
